VARANASI: A woman was killed and her daughter was seriously injured after some miscreants attacked them while they were sleeping inside their house in Shrinagar village of Revati police station area of
Ballia district on Friday night.
Old enmity with neighbours and other reasons are suspected to be behind the attack, said SO Rajesh Singh on Saturday.
According to reports, Bindu Devi (45) and her daughter Anshu Verma (18) were sleeping inside their residence. After midnight some unidentified miscreants broke into their house and attacked the duo with some sharp-edged weapons. on hearing their cries, the villagers rushed to their house but before they could reach there the miscreants managed to escape.
The mother and daughter were immediately rushed to district hospital where doctors declared Bindu Devi as brought dead while Anshu was referred to Trauma Centre of BHU in Varanasi following a sharp deterioration in her health condition.
Additional SP, CO and other officials reached the incident site. SO Revati said that initial investigation revealed that Bindu’s family had an old enmity with their neighbours following which a clash between them also took place in 2017. Apart from this some other reasons are also being suspected behind the attack, said Singh claiming that the case would be worked out very soon.
