Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman, in her budget speech, proposes the development of highways and airports across the country. FM said, “Accelerated development of highways will be undertaken. Delhi-Mumbai expressway and two other projects will be completed by 2023. Govt proposes to monetize 12 lots of highway bundles of over 6,000km before 2024.” Sitharaman also proposes setting up a large solar-powered capacity alongside rail tracks. In addition, 100 more airports to be developed by 2024 and more Tejas-like trains will be introduced, said FM Sitharaman.
