Cops confiscate liquor from abandoned van on Kalaghoda Circle

Vadodara: The traffic police seized a stock of liquor from a van on the busy road near Kalaghoda Circle on Saturday. The van driver, however, fled the spot seeing cops checking vehicles on the road. The case has been handed over to the prevention of crime branch (PCB).
According to the PCB sleuths, the police were conducting routine checking of vehicles on the road near Kalaghoda Circle. After cops checked the abandoned vehicle, they found 240 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and 95 cans of beer worth Rs 1 lakh. The liquor stock was seized along with the van.
“We are now scanning CCTV footage to ascertain identity of the accused who fled the spot. We will also track the vehicle’s owner from the license plate,” said Mukesh Bhagora, police inspector, PCB.
