Haryana budget session to start from February 17: Cabinet

CHANDIGARH: The budget session of Haryana assembly would commence from February 17. A decision in this regard was taken on Friday in the meeting of state cabinet held in New Delhi.
In addition, the cabinet also decided to implement a new policy for mountaineers from Haryana who scale top 10 highest mountain peaks of the world, including Mt Everest. Such mountaineers will get a cash award of Rs 5 lakh and Grade-C Sports Gradation Certificate, which will help them in securing government jobs under sports quota.
The state government has also decided to constitute a three-member committee of ministers for studying the best practices relating to inter-departmental transfer of government land for public purposes. The committee would comprise power minister Ranjit Singh, transport minister Mool Chand Sharma and minister of state for archaeology and museums Anoop Dhanak. Additional chief secretary, revenue, Dhanpat Singh will be the member secretary of the committee, which will also study the best practices adopted in other states.
The council of ministers also approved the formulation of a policy for resettlement of squatters at Terminal Market (fruit, vegetable, flowers and dairy products terminal) Ganaur. As per the policy, the plots having a size of 2 marla on the land, which is purchased for the rehabilitation of oustees of India International Horticulture Market (IIHM) Ganaur, may be allotted to each of the squatters residing there. The price of the plot will be Rs 1,66,077, payable in 100 equal monthly instalments. No administrative or other costs will be charged.
The cabinet meeting was presided over by chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar. It also approved the proposal of public works department for installation of new toll point on Subana-Kosli-Nahar Kanina Road (state highway-22) near Gujjarwas village in Rewari for collection of fee from commercial vehicles.
The time period for this new toll will be up to March 31, 2022, since, the validity of time period for all ongoing toll point is up to March 31, 2022. The installation of toll point on this road will fetch good revenue for the state exchequer as the heavy vehicles carrying quarry material from Mohindergarh district pass through the proposed toll points.
The government has also approved to withdraw class-II posts (ayurvedic, Unani and homeopathic medical officers) from the preview of the Haryana Public Service Commission.
