Suspended managing director of crisis-hit Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank, Joy Thomas’s police custody will end on October 17. A Mumbai court had suspended Thomas and sent him into police custody for interrogation in the Rs 4,335 crore PMC Bank scam on October 4. During interrogation Thomas has disclosed that he led a double life since 2005 when he converted to Islam to marry his personal assistant. The duo has since bought nine properties in Pune for an estimated Rs 4 crore. He also changed his name to Junaid Khan but never used it in any financial records.
