IFHRMS aims at effective management of resources

A preparatory review meeting on the implementation of the integrated Financial and Human Resources Management System (IFHRMS) was held here at the Collectorate on Wednesday.

Principal Secretary and Commissioner of Treasures and Accounts S. Jawahar presided over the review of the progress in the IFHRMS here.

According to the administration, the Integrated Financial and Human Resources Management System project is the first such project in the country, implemented by the government of Tamil Nadu for effective management of the State’s resources. The IFHRMS envisions real time information on State’s income and expenditure.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal Secretary said, the treasuries in the Krishnagiri provided salaries to the tune of ₹153 crore to 24,575 State government employees and pensions amounting to ₹22 crore for 11,680 pensioners.

The existing system of web payroll was time-consuming taking 8 to 12 working days to settle the salary and pension payments every month.

Once the IFHRMS project came into vogue, the payments will be made in a single day, Mr. Jawahar said. The IFHRMS envisions to benefit over nine lakh State government employees and more than eight lakh pensioners. He also lauded the departments for completing 100% digitization of government employees service registers. Collector S. Prabhakar, and Superintendent of Police Bandi Gangadhar were present.
