Prime Minister Narendra Modi's niece Damyanti Ben Modi has had a snatching incident with her while getting off an auto-rickshaw at Civil Lines on Saturday in which two bike riders were involved. It is being told that this incident has happened in front of Shri Gujarat Samaj Guest House. Damyanti told that she had come to Delhi with her children and husband to hang out and spend holidays. During this time this incident has happened with her.
Damyanti is the daughter of Prahlad, the younger brother of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Old Delhi from Amritsar at around 6:30 am on Saturday. On reaching Old Delhi, she took an auto-rickshaw. She was going to Sri Delhi Gujarati Samaj Guest House in that auto -Rickshaw, she had to stay there for about 6 hours. And she was supposed to catch a flight back to Ahmedabad in the evening.
Further, Damyanti told that her auto-rickshaw reached this house of Gujarati society around 7:00 pm. At that time she was sitting backstage in an auto-rickshaw and when the auto stopped, she started helping her husband to unload the goods. Meanwhile, two bike riders escaped by snatching her purse.
Damyanti said that she had 50 thousand rupees and two mobiles in her purse. When the information reached to DCP Monica Bhardwaj, she made a team of 100 officers in a hurry under Section 379 and 365 of the IPC to investigate the incident and filed a case. The CCTV footage traced the hulking of both those bike riders and based on that, 2 people have also been arrested within 24 hours.
