Mumbai: Four-year-old killed after slab of Virar building collapses

The building located in Nityanand Nagar in Virar (east) is said to be illegal.
MUMBAI: A four-year-old girl was killed after a portion of the balcony slab of a four-storey building collapsed in Virar on Tuesday night.
Initially feared trapped in the debris, the Vasai Virar Municipal Corporation (VVMC) and fire brigade personnel had launched a search for the girl. However, they could only recover the girl's body later.

The girl is believed to have been playing in the balcony on the third floor when a portion of the common balcony collapsed. The debris is believed to have hit her before a portion of it came crashing on the ground.
The building located in Nityanand Nagar in Virar (east) is said to be illegal. Residents of the building were evacuated after the incident.
