A 22-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by four armed men after he objected to the nuisance being created by a group sitting at the adjacent table of the bar and restaurant in Jayanagar 9th block on Sunday.

The deceased, Kishor Kumar, a resident of Byrasandra and working in a private firm, had gone to the restaurant with his friend, Yusuf Pasha.

The accused were sitting next to their table. As they were speaking loudly, Kishor asked them to behave and not create nuisance. A heated argument ensued which took an ugly turn when the accused, identified as Anand, Madu, Tabrez and Arpitha, assaulted Kishor and stabbed him repeatedly as he tried to retaliate, the police said.

The police rushed to the bar to find Kishore Kumar in a pool of blood. They rushed him to a hospital, but the doctors declared him brought dead due to excessive bleeding.

Based on the complaint, the Tilak Nagar police have taken up a case of murder and arrested the four. According to the police, Tabrez, 28, is a notorious rowdy-sheeter with more than 15 cases — including three murders, attempt to murder and robberies and dacoity. The police had to open fire to nab him as he assaulted the police party in Bannerghatta Road when they went to arrest him on the wee hours of Monday. He was then shifted to a hospital for treatment. The other accused are Anand, 25, an autorickshaw driver, Madhu, 26, who works in a marriage choultry, and Arpitha, 28, a transgender. The police produced the trio before the magistrate on Monday and remanded them to judicial custody.
