17,000 additional LED lights on streets soon: PMC

PATNA: The empowered standing committee (ESC) of Patna Municipal Corporation, in its meeting on Monday, gave its nod to initiate the auction process for 76 identified parking lots in the city.
ESC member Indradeep Chandravanshi said the auction process will begin by this month-end and an agreement with the selected firm will be signed for three years, unlike one year earlier.
He said the ESC decided to take over 17 incomplete water towers in the city and get them completed on priority basis to sort out water problem. ESC also decided to install additional 17,000 LED lights in the city, especially on the streets.

PMC executive officer of Patna City, Sushil Kumar Mishra, said it was also decided to provide additional five workers in all wards for the upcoming festive season. “Cleanliness of ghats and requirement of puja pandals were also discussed. All the EOs have been told to place their requirements,” said Mishra.
ESC also gave its approval to an agreement with two private firms for translocation of trees, if needed for any development purpose. A sum of Rs7,300 will be paid for trees having circumference of less than 40cm and Rs21,700 for the trees having circumference above 40cm and less than 127cm. The firm will be paid Rs34,000 for translocating trees with more than 127cm circumference, he said.
