Chandigarh, West Bengal got the better of Chennaiyin Football Club, Chennai by 3 – 2 in the 17th edition of the annual Administrator’s Challenge Cup All India Football Tournament U-14 (Boys) at Sports Complex, Sector-42 here. On Monday both teams adopted cautious approach right from the begining of the match. The first goal was scored in the 7th minute by speedy K. Srinidh of Chennai team.
Master Pintu Kumar scored from West Bengal side in the 25 minute and again struck in the 53rd minute. In the second half Chennaiyin team responded with well- knitted strategy and equalized the score by 2-2. The Bengal lad Rajbir Sikdar scored the winning goal in 80th minute of the game and the team applied pressure tactics over the opponents not allowing them even a single chance to score till the end of game.
In another match Chandigarh Football Academy handed out a 10-0 drubing to SAG, Football Academy, Gujrat. The CFA boys dominated from the beginning of the match with their perfect football skills with 90 per cent ball possession.
SAG Football Academy, Gujrat could not counter the attack of CFA and after lemon break four more goals were scored by Lanchenba (2) in the 18th and 29th minutes. Lemeet (4) scored in the 23rd, 28th , 62nd and 73rd minutes, whereas, Sarthak (3) struck in the 39th,59th and 71st minute and Mukul rounded off the winners’ tally in the 70th minute.
In the third match Assam also defeated Sreenidhi Football Club, Telangana by 6-3 at the Sector 46 Sports Complex. Dullajan Football Coaching Centre started their campaign with 2 goals in the first half of the game and 4 goals were scored after breather. Sreenidhi Football Club Telangana resisted the Assam team in the first half with equalizing 2 goals to the opponent but surrender in the 2nd half.
Riding on a brilliant hat-trick by Rahul Mable,Sudeva Football Club, New Delhi defeated Chandigarh Football Association by 3-1. He struck in the 48th, 54th and 69th minutes. The lone goal for CFA came in the 40th minute. In the last match of the day, Delhi Soccer Association routed Football School of India, Mumbai by 7-0. Khusagra Chaudhary, Akshat Mehra and Vadant Khanna were the main scorers.
