Transsion Holdings is all set to crack a low budget segment with Tecno Spark Go this festive season. It is priced at INR 5499, making it an affordable smartphone with a lot of features. The smartphone comes with a 6.1-inch display, 8MP AI Camera and 3000mAh mammoth battery. We spent ample time with the smartphone and here is what we think.
Design: The phone looks very attractive especially it's a back panel which comes with a gradient finish. The body of the smartphone is made of plastic but it doesn’t feel like one. It gives you the premium feel, thanks to its sleek design and bezels. At the front, it sports 6.1-inch HD+ display with dot notch which holds 5 MP Selfie shooter. Volume rockers and power button sit on the right side while the left side of the smartphone is bare. The 3.5mm headphone jack and micro USB port situated at the bottom side. You are also getting adjustable (intensity) front LED flash, which is usually not visible until you try hard to spot it out. At back, you are getting 8 MP AI-camera which is vertically aligned with dual-LED flash and AI Cam branding that gives the feel of triple or at least dual-camera setup with flash. You can find speaker grille at the bottom-left side of the smartphone. The battery of the smartphone can be removed and the dual SIM slots and Micro SD card can be inserted under the back panel. Overall, Tecno Spark Go is nicely designed and carries premium essence.
Display: Tecno Spark Go comes equipped with 6.1-inch dot-notch HD+ display with a resolution of (1560×720) pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The dot notch embedded with 5 MP Selfie camera. The display is crisp and bright too. We enjoyed watching lots of movies and YouTube videos on it and video playback were really smooth and crisp. The display is readable under direct sunlight. The device lacks Widevine L1 certification, so don’t expect Full-HD streaming on Netflix and Prime Video. We found the display to be decent not the great. To sum-up, you are getting decent display which is crisp and bright.
Camera: Tecno Spark Go sports 8MP AI camera accompanied by dual-LED flash at the back. The camera app comes with lots of ample of modes like AI CAM, Beauty, Bokeh, AR shot and Panorama. The captured photographs have a decent amount of detailing and zooming a bit while capturing far objects will not lead to pixelation. At the front, you are getting 5 MP Selfie shooter, which can capture detailed selfies. The front camera is also accompanied by a led flash, which is usually not visible until you glow it. The unique feature of the smartphone is that the intensity of the front flash also can be changed by swiping upward and downward from the display. Considering its pricing, the camera part of the smartphone is decent.

Performance: Tecno Spark Go comes equipped with MediaTek Helio A22 quad-core SoC which is paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The smartphone does it a job well when it comes to performance. Day to day task operation was smooth. We enjoyed playing many games like Free Fire, Wrestling revolution and Mini Militia to name a few but faced minor glitches but it is OK considering its hardware configuration. The smartphone comes with many useful features such as bike mode, reading mode, and eye care mode. These features are really practical not a gimmick. Watching videos and playing games for long did not result in heating. The only thing that can bother you is its internal storage which could have been more. The smartphone comes equipped with a 3000mAh battery, which is enough for a full day of moderate usage. For security, it also provides face unlock which is quick and trendy.
Verdict: Smartphone performance is optimal. It features a large screen and decent battery making it an ideal device for late-night owls, who prefer munching online content. The camera is decent and performs its duty well. The device is priced at INR 5499 and offers a lot in its package. If you want to look somewhere else, The Redmi 7A and Honor 7S are worth mentioning in the segment.
