PUNE: Two motorcycle borne criminals snatched the smart phone of a 33-year-old man while he was booking a cab. The incident happened in lane number 14 on Prabhat Road at around 9.45pm on Sunday.
Sandesh Pyarelal Bhalgat (33) has lodged an FIR with the
Deccan Gymkhana police at around 2am on Monday.
Bhalgat was visiting his uncle’s residence . Around 9.30pm, he stepped out of his residence and was busy booking cab for reaching home on his phone.
Sub-inspector Balaji Mete of the Deccan Gymkhana police station who is investigating the robbery case said,“The robbers came from behind and the pillion rider snatched Bhalgat’s phone and fled away. He did not raise an alarm because he through that the men may have robbed his phone for fun. After waiting there for sometime when the men did not return with the phone, he went to the police station and gave information of the robbery incident.”
Mete said Bhalgat told police that
the robbers were not wearing masks and helmets. They were in the age group of 27 and 30 years. The registration number of the bike is not known.
“There is no CCTV camera at the incident spot. We are checking footages at various places for establishing identity of the robbers. We are checking criminals on record and working on certain clues for detecting the case at the earliest,” he added.
