KANPUR: Chairman, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), RS Sharma, an alumnus of IIT-Kanpur, was honoured with Distinguished Alumnus Award by IIT-K director Prof Abhay Karandikar here on Sunday.
Sharma, who was selected for this award in the year 2016, could not come to receive it personally at that time. The award was conferred on him on Sunday when he came to attend the meeting of IIT Alumni Association. He had graduated from IIT-K with masters in mathematics.
Among those who attended the function included Prof Ashutosh Sharma of IIT-K, who is presently on deputation to the Government of India as secretary, department of science and technology, Prof Yogesh Joshi, Prof Shunmugaraj and Prof Jayant Singh of IIT-K.
