Knowledge Corporation to fine-tune students' skills in Madhya Pradesh

INDORE: A pit stop at Knowledge Corporation to fine-tune their skills can make it a smooth ride for students in the corporate world.
Knowledge Corporation is an initiative by directorate of higher education (DHE) to make students of higher educational institutions (HEIs) of Madhya Pradesh more employable. It will enhance three basic skills - knowledge of computer, soft skills and managerial qualities. After getting groomed, students will become more appealing applicants for job.
"While trying to bring in several reforms in higher education, DHE has been planning to come up with the knowledge corporation for college students. Currently, department's plan is at the initial stage. We are now looking for logistics for the project," said higher education commissioner Raghvendra Singh.
Computer knowledge, soft skills and managerial qualities are three basic skills that are required for students in current times to become employable, he added. "Be it big or small firm, companies want these three basic skills in employees. Students must not only have these skills but need to be good at it too. Under the knowledge corporation, we will get students of our state trained in these skills to become employable," he said.
Principals of several higher educational institutes welcomed the announcement as the initiative is likely to be helpful in addressing unemployment.
"Especially students, who come from villages or Hindi medium schools, need to brush up of these skills to be at par with their contenders. This plan would be beneficial for them as every year several students come from humble background for higher education," said Old GDC principal Sumitra Waskel.
