Teen detained for raping schoolmate in Udaipur

UDAIPUR: Banswara police have detained a 17-year-old youth, a student of Class XI, for raping an 11-year-old girl who studies in his school. The Class VII student is admitted to the district hospital in a critical condition.
The incident took place on Saturday night when the girl had accompanied her parents for a raat jagran program held by the village community in Ambapura under Sawada sub-block of the district. In the middle of the programme, the girl went to answer nature’s call. The youth, who was also attending the event, followed her and finding an opportunity took her to a deserted spot and raped her twice.

The girl managed to come out on the main road but fell unconscious. The accused dragged her back to the field and abused her brutally. The girl bled profusely and laid there for almost five hours till her family who had been searching her overnight spotted her.
She was rushed to the district hospital and she was not in a condition to speak until Sunday evening, police said. The survivor's mother told police that the accused misled her daughter and said it was too late to walk alone and he would drop her home. The girl believed his words and went with him.
