Australian swimming legend Michael Klim has offered a rare insight into his luxury Balinese lifestyle and his multimillion-dollar skincare empire.

The two-time Olympic gold medallist has spent seven years living in the idyllic island paradise where he operates his Milk & Co business and co-parents his three children.

'I can still do everything that’s required with the business from Bali,' Klim told news.com.au, revealing he now only returns to Australia for work once a month.

The 42-year-old split with his wife and business partner Lindy Rama-Ellis in 2016, and has since extended his business into the lucrative Asian market.

While the pair maintained a united front and are now on good terms, Klim confirmed his ex-wife quietly left the business they built together three years ago.

Klim's Instagram account provides a glimpse into his luxurious lifestyle in Bali, which includes surfing and yoga while being an active single dad to his three children.

His ex-wife Rama-Ellis, the glamorous princess niece of a Balinese king, alternates weeks looking after their three children; 13-year-old Stella, Frankie, seven, and Rocco, 10.

Klim is still an active swimmer outside of the competitive realm, and is an advocate for a healthy outdoor lifestyle.

He has recently split with his girlfriend Desiree Deravi, with his children and co-parenting schedule with ex-wife Rama-Ellis his main focus.

'I think we have realised the kids are the priority and all our decisions of late have been in the best interest of the kids.'

'The kids get home from school at about 4.30pm and they’re either horse riding, swimming or surfing — I’m just like a normal parent in Australia where I’ve become a chauffer, but I do it on a scooter,' Klim said.

The 42-year-old revealed he was enjoying being a single man and spending his time and energy on his three young children.

Klim launched Milk & Co in 2008 with his ex-wife. He has previously admitted the pair made some decisions they came to regret in the early days of their business.

'I made a lot of decisions based on my intuition and gut, and not really understanding the financials and the market,' Klim said.

'Some of those decisions were costly.'

Nowadays Klim's products are stocked everywhere from Coles to Chemist Warehouse, and his company is a sponsor of the 2020 World Series Swim in Coolangatta, with the former superstar an ambassador for the event.
