No road to society, Green View residents go to DTCP

Gurgaon: Residents of NBCC Green View in Sector 37D have complained to the department of town and country planning (DTCP) seeking its intervention in the construction of a service road near the residential society. They alleged that though they deposited money with HSVP (formerly Huda) for the purpose nine years ago, it hasn’t been constructed so far.
A delegation of residents submitted a letter to the department requesting action on the issue on Friday. They claimed that around 400 residents are living in the society with no connecting road, which is a big concern.
“We have to travel over 1km through a swamp every day to reach the main road. We deposited Rs 45 crore with HSVP for infrastructure development in 2009. It is the responsibility of the government to make arrangements for residents. We do not have a connecting road to the main road yet. We want a 24m-wide service lane to be constructed,” said S K Kaushik, general secretary, Green View RWA.
Another resident, Ravi Verma, added: “People with children and elderly parents are suffering the most. It is difficult for an ambulance to reach the society in case of emergencies. Also, children are forced to walk a long distance every day for the school bus.”

Residents said as they received occupation certificate from DTCP, it is the department’s duty to take immediate action.
Meanwhile, DTCP officials said they are aware of the issue but don’t have the authority to ask HSVP to construct the road. “We had a discussion over the issue earlier also, but there are no provisions on our side to construct road. Also, the money they deposited was not for the construction of service lane. We are looking into the problem, but the solution doesn’t lie with us or HSVP at present. There was never any proposition for the construction of service lane in the area,” senior town planner Sudhir Chauhan said.
