At 16, Gnanasagar Subramanyam Vuchi has showcased his abundant talent by entering the Guinness World Records as the youngest to memorise 52 objects and place them in sequence in a minute!
While applying for the record in June, Gnanasagar had to observe objects placed in a particular sequence. After that, he was blindfolded and the objects were jumbled. And, he re-arranged all the 52 objects in a minute in the same sequence as he had first seen them.
The certification from Guinness came a few days ago.
“Five witnesses chose 10-11 objects of their choice, so I did not even know what all the objects would look like all when they were laid out. The record was measured by the total number of objects in the correct sequence I could memorise and then recall,” recalls Gnanasagar.
A student of Grand Master M. Jayanth Reddy (martial arts) for the past five years, this young boy is also a first Dan Black Belt in taekwondo and is being mentored as one of the future champions in the sport which features in Olympics.
Gnanasagar, a class 11 student, is equally good in academics consistently scoring 95% marks and is also an enthusiast in science and works on creating gadgets needed for martial arts fraternity like digitisation of number of kicks, punches and to measure the speed of the punch, making use of sensors and multi-controllers for these projects.
Gnanasagar was also a multiple-medallist in regional taekwondo championships and is now being trained to go to the next level by his mentor.
“The process of teaching and learning goes beyond simply passing on movements, forms or techniques. Externally, people can see the movements but on a deeper level the student’s mind is focused on the philosophy of the Martial Arts Way. And, Gnanasagar is an exceptional, young talent who will surely go places,” says Mr. Jayanth Reddy.
