MANGALURU: Inspired by artist Baadal Nanjundaswamy, who recently recreated the scene of an astronaut walking on crater-laden roads of Bengaluru to coincide with Chandrayaan-2, a Class VI student, Adlin D'Silva, from St Agnes School, dressed like an astronaut and walked through the Central Market Road filled with potholes on Friday.
The video of the little girl trying to moonwalk on the cratered road has gone viral. The video is part of the campaign by Mangaluru City Corporation civic group—a group of like-minded people—to draw the attention of the authorities towards the pathetic condition of roads.

Arjun Mascarenhas, co-founder, MCC civic group told TOI that the campaign is similar to what artist Baadal Najundaswamy did in Bengaluru. Adlin volunteered to be part of the campaign. “Through this video, we hope to draw the attention of the city corporation. It has stopped raining, but the corporation has not yet commenced road repair,” he said.
The civic group has planned to meet Mangaluru City Corporation commissioner Shanady Ajith Kumar Hedge with a request to fix the potholes. They will also be conducting a day-long tour across the city and document all the roads. The same would be presented to the commissioner with a deadline to fix the issue
