Evelyn Sharma, actress, shares some money tips
My first paycheck as a model in India and I spent it on a diamond necklace! Treat yourself when you've worked hard!
My most expensive purchases must be jewellery. But my biggest investment has always been into people. I love growing businesses and mentoring young people. Seams For Dreams, WIP Creatives, and all my other ventures have been my biggest investment so far.
I have several accounts team; one for my personal accounts, one for my businesses, and one for my charity accounts. In India, my biggest returns, besides growing businesses, have been from mutual funds. For assets and investments, I have a financial advisor and always educate myself first before making a decision. I recently read this book called "Lets talk Money" by Monika Halan and there were some really useful tips in this book! I would recommend everyone who's planning to invest money in India. It's a great starting point.
I think your biggest waste of money sits in the back of your closet. The amount of money we spend on buying clothes that just end up dusting away in our closets is literally insane. Stop shopping, spend your money on experiences instead, they will last you a lifetime of memories and great stories to tell!
Definitely, real estate is next. Once I have my own house, I will start flipping houses. I am too passionate about upcycling, interior design, and redevelopment to not flip houses! Any partners out there for this new venture, call me!
