The BMW 6-Series GT might be persona non grata in America, but the rest of the world can look forward to updated hatchback.
Expected to be unveiled next year, the facelifted model will follow in the footsteps of the 5-Series which is also set for a minor refreshening. As a result, the car has been equipped with a new front fascia that features restyled headlights with more prominent LED daytime running lights.
Besides the new lights, we can expect a revised bumper and a modified grille. Thankfully, designers have kept their wits about them and decided to forgo the massive grille recently seen on the Concept 4.

The styling changes continue out back as the model has a modestly revised rear bumper. However, the taillights appear to carryover – at least on this prototype.
The cabin should see some minor modifications and we can expect a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster as well as an updated 10.25-inch infotainment system. There could also be some new trim and upholstery options.
Under the hood, the 620d will likely follow in the footsteps of the 520d and feature a mild-hybrid system which adds a second battery and a 48V starter-generator. This setup helps to reduce fuel consumption by up to 0.3 L/100km in the 5-Series while also adding an “extra dose of dynamism when accelerating under full throttle.”
The rest of the engine lineup could benefit from some minor updates to improve performance and reduce fuel consumption. Of course, we’ll get a better idea of what to expect once the facelifted 5-Series is introduced.
