The 9th edition of Celebration Mysuru Marathon held on Sunday received tremendous response with a record number of participants at the event. The marathon covers 42.195 km.

Organised by Life is Calling Sports, an event management group promoting healthy living and lifestyle, more than 2,500 people took part. It was flagged of from Balarama Gate opposite Kote Anjaneyaswamy Temple at the palace north gate.

Not all who took part had registered for the full marathon. Hence, the organisers also conducted a half marathon, a 30 km run, and 10 km run each for both men and women. The participants were drawn from across the State.

Life is calling conducts a series of such ‘celebration runs’ in different cities and the Bengaluru Marathon is slated for November 24, 2019.

This is the second marathon/half marathon being conducted in the city during the month underlining the growing popularity of running. The Dasara marathon is also in the offing in the first week of October.
