LUDHIANA:
Tibba police in Punjab's Ludhiana booked a husband and three other family members on charges of raping a woman in Ludhiana. The family members included the accused husband's brother, sister and mother.
In her complaint, the 21-year-old woman mentioned that she got married to the accused on March 31 this year. Right after the marriage, the accused started harassing her. She added that the accused then asked her to have
physical relations with his brother.
The complainant said about a month after the marriage, her brother-in-law forcibly assaulted her and and forced her to have an illicit relation with him, to which she objected. She informed her mother-in-law about the same, but to no avail, she added.
The complainant further said that on the night of September 20, the accused persons thrashed her.
Police have booked the accused persons under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the
Indian Penal Code (IPC).
