Kirron Kher asks women to make Chandigarh green

CHANDIGARH: Local member of Parliament Kirron Kher on Sunday urged women to take charge of making the city plastic-free and green.
She was addressing Bharat Vikas Parishad's women's summit Nirupama at law auditorium in Panjab University. Nearly 800 women delegates from the region had come to the event. "Women's empowerment is one of the integral visions of the government and that is the reason why numerous schemes and initiatives launched for women have received maximum beneficiaries and also proved successful for all stakeholders. After realizing their empowerment, women should continue with the same spirit of social work for empowering the society," Kher said.

The MP felicitated women achievers for their outstanding contribution in various fields that benefitted the society.
Professor Usha Singh was awarded for her work towards eye cancer at PGIMER, Anjali Sardana, the director of Manav Mangal Smart Schools was felicitated for her contribution in education, Paramjit Kaur Thind of Govt Multi Specialty Hospital, Sector 16 for healthcare, IPS Neha Yadav and RJ Meenaskhi for media excellence.
