Vice President Venkaiah Naidu will kick-start the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Kottakkal Arya Vaidya Sala founder Vaidyaratnam P.S. Varier at Kottakkal on Tuesday. Governor Arif Mohammed Khan will preside over the fucntion.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for Mr. Naidu’s visit. Police said they would impose traffic restrictions along the highway from Karipur to Kottakkal on Tuesday morning.

Several schools at Kottakkal, including Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, have been given a holiday on Tuesday as Mr. Naidu’s visit would inconvenience the school vehicle movements.

Health Minister K.K. Shylaja, Higher Education Minister K.T. Jaleel, E.T. Mohammed Basheer, MP, and Abid Husain Thangal, MLA, will be the guests at the function.
