MUMBAI: Oshiwara police arrested four men, including two Kashmiris, who were found consuming drugs in a dormitory at Behrambag in Jogeshwari (West) on Sunday. Police also found an Indian made pistol and 19 bullets from one of the Kashmiri identified as Tanveer Khan (30) who hails from Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir( J & K). Tanveer told cops that he has worked as security guard in Mumbai and holds a valid weapon licence issued from J & K.
Police nabbed the four—Tanveer and another Kashmiri Ishaq Khan (21), who also hails from Poonch, Anwar Mustak Hussain (30) and Shabbir Qureshi (30), both residents of Jogeshwari—during the routine check of hotels and lodges when they found them consuming drugs. "When frisked the weapon was found in Tanveer’s possession. Tanveer has given the weapon licence which we are verifying with our counterparts in J&K," said a police officer of the Oshiwara police station.

During the probe, police found out that Tanveer has worked in some security agency in Mumbai before returning home. "Tanveer and Ishaq came to Mumbai on September 21 and was staying with the other two. Both have claimed that they came to Mumbai in search of security guard’s job," said a police officer.
All the four have been booked under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, he said.
