FOXBORO – The Patriots have historically done a great job of avoiding distractions.

That was seen this week and seen on Sunday during the drama that’s known as Antonio Brown.

The players avoided questions all week about the receiver, who accused of rape, sexual assault and sexual misconduct. After Brown was released, he went off the rails on Saturday, calling out Patriots owner Robert Kraft on Twitter.

How did the Patriots respond?

In typical fashion, they didn’t say much about Brown, went out and beat the Jets by a score of 30-14.

“We talk about ignoring the noise and we really believe that,” said Duron Harmon. “When you ignore the noise and just focus on what’s in house and focus on the opponent and focus on how you’re going to win, you win. That’s what came through. It’s a tough week, obviously a lot of media, a lot of stories but the only thing we focused on was the Jets and I think it showed through today.

“I can’t speak on AB and I can’t speak on Mr. Kraft. The only thing I can speak on is the win today.”

“It is what it is. I can’t really speak on it. I really don’t want to,” added Phillip Dorsett. “Honestly, I don’t want to speak on it because it’s a situation. It is what it is.”

After Brown was released, on Friday, he posted several Patriots-positive messages on Instagram and Twitter. Tom Brady event responded to one with heart emojis. Any positive feelings Brown had for the Pats went out the window due to the team trying to void all the guarantees in his contract. This, of course, happened because Brown sent intimidating text messages to a woman who accused him of sexual misconduct while under contract with the Patriots.

For 11 days, it was a media circus in Foxboro when Brown was on the roster. This weekend, things blew up. The Patriots, however, stayed the course – like they always do.

“I think you just have to live in the moment and operate in the moment,” said Matthew Slater. “No matter what situations you’re faced with in life as an individual, or in this case as a football team, you just control the things you can control. Try and focus on positive things and as a professional keep trying to do your job. I think we have always tried to do that around here. It’s been no different here [for] the start of this season and we’ll continue to try and do that moving forward.”
