With the document, the federal government can collect information that identifies the tourist profile and occupancy rates of each region, thus improving the elaboration of public policies directed to the sector.

According to the national secretary for Tourism Development and Competitiveness, Aluizer Malab, the initiative has begun since the beginning of the year and will modernize the sector.

“We are working to bring something modern and that accompanies the technological moment we are living, making the process of arrival of this information faster. This will benefit those who are there at the end: the citizen and also the entrepreneurs, since for any business to succeed, it is necessary to understand its target audience well,” he said.

To stay in any hotel or inn across the country, national and international tourists must complete the National Guest Registration Form. It has information such as length of stay at destination, number of companions, means of transport and place of residence, among other data. The submission of these forms is mandatory for all establishments that act legally and are therefore registered in Cadastur, the system of registration of individuals and legal entities of the Ministry of Tourism, which operate in the sector.
