Shoppers are furious after Aldi sells out of $20 moisturiser that has been compared to $690 version in THREE minutes

  • Aldi's $20 cream has been voted just as good as La Prairie's pricey $690 product
  • It was put on sale by the supermarket on Wednesday morning nationwide
  • But within just a few minutes the caviar-infused moisturiser was sold out
  • Aldi had even tried to limit the skincare to two per customer but it didn't help
  • The product features both snow algae and caviar, which hydrate and moisturise

Aldi's caviar-infused moisturiser sold out in just three minutes in stores across Australia, even after the discount supermarket placed limits of two products per customer.

The $19 Lacura Caviar Illumination Day Cream and Night Cream made their highly anticipated return to the shelves on Wednesday September 18 along with Lacura's seven day intensive treatment and an anti-wrinkle serum.

The day and night cream in particular has been likened to La Prairie's $690 moisturiser, with beauty experts saying they get the same hydrating result.

But sadly thousands of shoppers missed out on the Special Buys sale after swarms of people stormed stores Australia-wide to get their hands on the cult skincare.

Videos on social media show women pushing people out of the way to get their hands on the product as early as 8am.

'The Caviar skincare has already sold out again, these are bulls*** stock levels,' one woman complained on Aldi's official Facebook page.

'You're never likely to get it... it's a special and always sells out minutes after opening,' said another.

Another said someone tried to pull her pants down in order to distract her from the sale and nab more creams.

One NSW woman who was successful in securing the creams said she was 'so excited' to give them a try.

'There were 26 people waiting before the store opened and all were very civilised except for one SAVAGE who roughly pushed in front of everyone and RAN to the display - stuffing her Coles bag with creams,' she said online.

Some have even gone as far as to say the cream is just as good as the popular La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Cream, which retails for a staggering $690 (pictured: La Prairie's product)

'Thankfully one of the staff shouted "Two per customer only and we will be checking" so she had to put them all back.'

'This is the first time I've witnessed an Aldi staff member put a limit on any Special Buy! As I was leaving there were lots more coming to buy so I can't say they will last more than 30 minutes.'

Loyal devotees of the Lacura caviar blend have spoken about the incredible results they have achieved after purchasing it the first time it was released, back in 2016.

'Lacura's Caviar Day Cream is a miracle. I've been using this for one year and tonight was asked for ID when buying wine. I'm a 42-year-old mum of four,' one woman posted on Twitter.
