VADODARA: Notorious gangster Aslam Sheikh alias Aslam Bodiyo and his two accomplices were arrested again on Tuesday on charges of abduction and extorting money from an auto-rickshaw driver. Bodiyo and his aides – Ravi alias Salman Chauhan and Hasnain Kheerwala – are already lodged in Vadodara central jail for extorting money from a general manager of finance firm.
The detection of crime branch (DCB) of city police took their custody from the jail and formally arrested the trio. Cops said that Bodiyo had abducted Mohammed Arshad Pathan near Nyay Mandir on July 2.
Pathan’s friend had to pay Rs 42,000 to Bodiyo for which the gang kidnapped Pathan and took him around the city in their car and thrashed him before dropping him off at Nyay Mandir again. Few days later when they came looking for Pathan again and he fled to Surat.
