Commuters in Kochi Metro will be able to avail of 50% discount on fares on Wednesday too, while they will get 20 per cent discount till September 30, including for group booking.
The new discount for trip passes will be 30 per cent for the 30-day pass (at present it is 25 percent) and 40 per cent for 60-day pass (at present 33 percent). For the Kochi1 Card, the discount will be 25 per cent, valid till September 30. The KMRL introduced the 50 per cent discount on fares from September 4 to 18 in connection with the commissioning of the metro’s Thykoodam extension. The extension evoked a tremendous response and for the first time, the ridership on a single day crossed 1 lakh passengers.
The ridership up to 8 p.m. on Tuesday was 64,830.
