Former M.P., Abdul Samad Samadani, releasing the magazine "Ishal Lokam", a magazine for Mappila songs and literature, by handing over a copy to writer K.P. Sudheera at a funtion in Kozhikode on Tuesday. T.K. Hamsa, former minister, is also seen.

M.P. Abdussamad Samadani, former MLA, launched “Eshal Lokam”, a new magazine published by the Kerala Institute of Mappila Arts and Studies, in Kozhikode on Tuesday.

The magazine, edited by Faisal Elettil, aims to bring to the limelight the works of many writers in the field of Mappila literature so as to preserve them for the coming generations. Writer K.P. Sudheera received the first copy of the magazine while former minister and chairman of the Moyin Kutty Vaidyar Mappila Kala Academy, T.K.Hamza, delivered the keynote address.

The executive editor of the magazine, Kanesh Poonoor, was present. The event also paid homage to M.Kunhimoosa, noted Mappilappattu writer, who passed away here on Tuesday.
