NOIDA: With the state police’s UP COP mobile application meant for lodging complaints and online verification of tenants and employees not displaying
FIRs lodged in Gautam Budh Nagar since Monday, many complainants are facing inconvenience.
This is because a new internet service provider is being appointed as the services of the previous one have not been extended,
police officials said.
“The problem is not of the application. The UP COP
app is working fine. However, the problem arises when the connectivity fails. The FIRs are being uploaded offline, they do not show in the application when the connectivity fails,” Shahab Rashid Khan, SP of the UP Police Computer Centre, told TOI on Tuesday.
“The vendor is being changed because more bandwidth is required for the massive data being uploaded. The appointment process would complete within two months,” he added.
Sources said some police stations are also not refreshing the uploaded FIRs due to which, the problem is being witnessed.
In some police stations, like the Sector 49 police station, e-FIRs are not showing in the app for over the past 20 days.
Sector 49 station house officer Dharmendra Sharma said the problem was of connectivity. “The old vendor has stopped providing services and services of the new vendor are being awaited,” he said.
The online app is meant to reduce the number of visits to police stations and providing services like lodging of e-FIRs, online verification of tenants, permission for protests, etc.
