Police in Chhattisgarh has arrested a man for allegedly raping a woman in the Baloda Bazar area. The girl was drugged before she was raped.

According to information received from the police, the woman was trapped by the accused who feigned a romantic affair with her.

When she visited the house of the accused, his mother fed her food laced with intoxicants. After she lost consciousness, the accused raped her while his mother recorded the act.

After the incident, the brother-in-law and the sister of the accused blackmailed the victim and asked her for money.

To save herself of the harassment, the victim paid an amount of Rs 4 lakh to the accused.

The case came to light when the father of the victim asked her for the money he had given her after selling his land. The father had sold his land for Rs 6 lakh and asked her to keep the money with her safely.

When he received the money, it was short of Rs 4 lakh. When he asked his daughter about the shortage, she told him everything, following which the police was informed.
