Worker, 19, suffers serious head injuries after being crushed by falling timber at a Sydney construction site

A teenager has been left with serious injuries after he was crushed by falling timber sheets at a worksite.
The 19-year-old was rushed to hospital after being struck by the timber in Bankstown, in Sydney's west on Tuesday.
He suffered severe head injuries after the pile of sheets collapsed on him, and remains in a serious condition at Liverpool Hospital.

'SafeWork NSW is investigating after a 19-year-old male was injured following an incident at a workplace in Bankstown this morning,' Safework NSW said in a statement.
'SafeWork inspectors are attending the site and the investigation is ongoing.'
The 19-year-old is believed to have been hit with up to 300kg of timber, 9 News reported.
Police are still investigating at the work site.
It comes in the wake of several other workplace related incidents that have left many workers hospitalised across Sydney.
A similar incident occurred on Monday after a 59-year-old man was left in a critical condition after two heavy steel beams collapsed on top of him.
He had been working at a construction site in Moorebank when the pipes rolled off a truck, striking him over his head, abdominal and legs.
A 30-year-old man died last Wednesday in Sydney's west after his head became caught in machinery.
Emergency services arrived at St Mary's timber pallet factory but were unable to revive the man who suffered severe head injuries.
