Flex boards banned in Nilgiris

Udhagamandalam: As per Madras high court orders dated December 19, 2018, and August 7, 2019, flex boards and hoardings are banned in the Nilgiris district, considering the risk involved in it and disruption caused for traffic, said a press release from Nilgiris collector J Innocent Divya here on Tuesday.
Following the court directive, business establishments, political parties, private organizations and individuals are not permitted to erect flex boards, hoardings or posters in the places falling under municipal and panchayat limits and along the highways in the Nilgiris district, the release added.
“Hence public are requested to abide by the court order failing which a fine of Rs 10,000 will be levied, besides criminal action against the culprits,” the release said.
