Pooja Banerjee, who plays the role of Nivedita Basu in Kasautii Zindagii Kay participated on the dance-based reality show, Nach Baliye 9 with her husband Sandeep Sejwal. The couple is one of the wild card jodis who entered the show about a week back impressed everyone with their debut performance. The couple was very excited to be a part of Nach Baliye 9 but seems like their journey is all set to end on the show soon.
No, they aren't getting evicted! During rehearsals, Pooja injured herself badly and she has been hospitalised because of it. Talking about the incident, Sandeep told Bombay Times, "In the act, Pooja had to stand on my shoulders and fall back, with our choreographer catching her. However, she slipped, lost her balance and fell in the front from above 10 feet from the ground. She landed on her hands."
Sejwal further said, "The impact was such that she hurt both her hands — the joint of her right wrist is fractured, while the left elbow bone is chipped. Pooja has also sprained a ligament in her left leg. She is in a cast and the doctors are waiting for the swelling to subside before they perform the surgery, which is scheduled to take place today. She will be hospitalised for at least a week."
He added, "Since the show is about couples, I don’t think we will be able to continue. So, we are opting out."
While Pooja told HT Cafe, "While rehearsing for our act, I fell off Sandeep’s shoulders and fell flat on the floor. I fell so hard that I got a ligament tear on my left foot and while trying to balance myself and break my fall, my left wrist, too, was injured badly. My shoulder was dislocated, too, and doctors have fixed that. It is in a sling and the pain is awful. My wrist also got fractured, and will need surgery, which is in a few days."
She concluded by saying, "I am on painkillers and can barely move. I am going to be in the hospital for a few days and that’s why Sandeep and I will not be able to perform for the dance reality show."
