Husband fronts court charged with murder over Nollamara woman's death
Police will allege a 32-year-old woman found dead by family members inside her Nollamara home was murdered by her husband at some point between September 11 and 15.
Jessica Carter's body was discovered by her brother-in-law early Sunday morning after he broke into her home through the roof to reach her. Her family had been trying to contact her after receiving confusing text messages earlier in the day about a car crash.
Police arrested her husband, Harold Carter, at Perth Airport on Sunday and have since charged him with murder.
The 50-year-old appeared in Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning wearing a police forensics jumpsuit. His case was adjourned to October 30.
Ms Carter's sister Alison Gibson told Nine News Perth her death of had left their close-knit family shattered.
"She was really kind, we're a really close family and she was really loved," she said.
Neighbours heard screaming coming from the health care worker's May Drive home around 11pm on Saturday but did not contact police.
"Just check on someone," a tearful Ms Gibson said.
"Look at how close these houses are, they are literally wall-to-wall."
