Interdisciplinary workshop on Environmental Management at CUPB

BATHINDA: Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) of Central University of Punjab Bathinda (CUPB) conducted two-week national level interdisciplinary workshop on Environmental Management which concluded on Friday. It was aimed at sensitise & engage youngsters to adopt sustainable environmental practices through capacity building.
TLC coordinator Vinod Arya presented report of TLC Programs and its impact. He mentioned, since its inception in January 2018, TLC at CUPB has organised 11 programs wherein 400 faculty members participatee. Program in charge Yogalakshmi KN stated 22 faculty members from 9 states participated in this workshop.
She said, during this workshop, scientists and academicians spread awareness on various aspects of environmental management including application of satellites in environmental management, health impacts of agricultural crop residue burning, environmental application of nanotechnology & transgenic plants, natural resource management, global environmental issues, constitutional laws & environmental protection, the national green tribunal, and hazardous waste management.
She informed that, special lectures on curriculum development & fake news, and a training program on Disaster Management by NDRF were also organised during this workshop.
CUPB Vice-Chancellor Prof. RK Kohli discussed environmental challenges at global, national and local level. He encouraged young faculty members to manage ecological resources with honesty and motivated them to contribute towards the environment by spreading awareness of sustainable environmental management techniques.
