THANE: The sessions court here awarded seven years' rigorous imprisonment to a 76-year-old man for sodomising a minor boy in 2017 in Navi Mumbai's
Vashi area.
The special Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act court judge, S B Bahalkar, convicted Kisan Ingale, who is unemployed and lives on the footpath, and also imposed a fine of Rs 3,000.
Additional public prosecutor, Varsha Chandane, told the court that on January 18, 2017, the accused had called the boy, then six years old, to a secluded place where he sodomised him.
When the boy returned home, he was in immense pain. He later confided about the assault to his mother.
After a frantic search, the boy's parents found the accused on a footpath nearby. He was arrested and booked under the IPC as well as under the
POCSO Act.
