PPOA will celebrate 100 yrs on Sept 21

PUNE: The Poona Press Owners Association (PPOA) will be celebrating the successful completion of 100 years in a special programme on Saturday (September 21), announced PPOA President Ravindra Joshi. 

He also informed that the Association is going to start a ‘one stop mall’ for printers in Navi Peth area and the project will be set up in an area of 10,000 sq ft and serve as a place to find all the printing press-related materials under one roof.

Joshi said, “To make people aware about the legacy of printing, we plan to establish a big printing museum in Pune, which will present the oldest to newest printing techniques and the long journey of the press. The overall cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 10 crore.”

A docubook titled ‘Shatamudra’, presenting the 100 years journey of the Association, a documentary on the same subject and a special issue of its 80-year-old magazine ‘Mudran Prakash’ will be unveiled. PPOA will also present a special postal stamp and postal cover marking its 100 years.
