Godavari boat tragedy: TDP blames YSRCP for loss of lives

Former TDP MLA Babu Ramesh blamed the AP government for Godavari boat tragedy.
HYDERABAD: A political storm has begun brewing over the Godavari river boat mishap. While he was in the opposition, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had demanded that the then Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrabau Naidu be booked for criminal negligence for the three boat mishaps that had occurred in Krishna and Godavari. Now, TDP followers have already begun an online campaign, asking why a criminal case should not be booked against Jagan.
Despite Godavari being in spate, the boat was allowed. The sentiment that this invariably lead to the accident, is prevalent on social media.

Former TDP MLA Babu Ramesh blamed the AP government for the tragedy. “The government wings have failed totally. The rescue operations, too, started late,” said Ramesh.
Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan said, “It is a serious lapse. How can they allow tourist boat when Godavari river is in spate and when there is heavy influx of flood water? The accident is a result of improper supervision by official machinery and its failure to provide an alert on the dangerous levels of water flow. There should be coordination between tourism and irrigation departments,” he said.
