VADODARA: Fifty-year-old Rampal Shah is a real head turner when he rides his Royal Enfield. No, not because of his dominating presence, but for his helmet! Reason: The helmet is covered with all vehicle documents.
Shah, an insurance agent, does not seem keen on flouting the new rules in the Motor Vehicles Act and inviting heavy penalties on himself. So, from driving license and pollution under control (PUC) certificate, to RC book and insurance policy, it’s all on his head(gear)!
“Usually, everyone has these important documents but often forget them at home. Fearing this may actually happen to me and make me pay heavy fines, I thought of this idea,” Rampal told TOI.
“I wear helmet regularly and so, now whenever I go I have all these documents with me. If any traffic cop intercepts me, I have all the documents on my head. I escape paying hefty fines too,” Rampal added.
Interestingly, Rampal was challaned once earlier this year. Ask why? Hilariously, it was for forgetting to wear his helmet!
