NEW BEDFORD – At its fifth annual Center Stage Gala, the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center will present Sen. Mark Montigny with the Deborah & Benjamin Baker Paragon Award for his commitment to the Zeiterion and the Southcoast region. The biggest fundraising event on the Zeiterion’s calendar, the gala raises critical funds to support the non-profit’s mission. This year’s Center Stage Gala takes attendees on a “Love Boat”-inspired evening of classic cruise fun on the historic Zeiterion stage, which will triple in size for the occasion. The event features cocktails, dinner by Russell Morin Catering and live entertainment by Wild Nites. Patrons near and far can bid on a variety of items at various price points during the online auction through BiddingForGood, a charitable e-commerce company. This year’s auction items include a round of golf for four at the Kittansett Club, a complete set of signed Bernadette Peters children’s books, a private movie night at The Z, a two-night stay at the Historic Whale House in New Bedford, a 2008 Taylor Custom Grand Symphony Guitar, and much more. Proceeds from the gala support the non-profit’s mission to entertain, educate, and inspire the community through the performing arts, while contributing to the cultural, social, and economic well-being of Greater New Bedford. The Center Stage Gala will be held on Saturday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase at www.zeiterion.org, by calling 508-994-2900, or in person at the box office at 684 Purchase St., New Bedford.
