Toy train bogie overturns, 4 injured

Ludhiana: Four members of a family were injured, one of them seriously, when the compartment of a joy ride train at Chappar fair, 40km from Ludhiana, overturned on Sunday evening, said police. The injured were identified as Manvinder Kaur, Harminder Singh, Honeypreet Singh, and Himanpreet Singh of Amarpura here, they said. Harminder has suffered serious injures, a doctor treating him said, while the condition of others was stated to be stable.
SSP Ludhiana Rural Sandeep Goel said the toy train had jumped, but because of safety measures, the persons did not suffer injuries. He added they would have registered a case into the matter if there was any major incident. The police officer said those running the train had a ‘No Objection Certificate’, and had entered into a compromise with those who fell from it.
Chhapar Mela is organised under the jurisdiction of Jodhan police station in Ludhiana Rural police district.
