Fall River is a great and famous city in the great United States of America. The city of hills, mills and chicken pot pie. Fall River was once the textile capital of the world. We still have numerous granite mills still standing, some converted housing for the elderly and others are being used as commercial business.

Fall River has a very prestigious landscape. If you ever want to see a breath-taking sunset on a clear night, go to the corner of Langly Street and Highland Avenue. You will most probably agree we have one of the best locations to view a sunset on a clear night, truly eye candy from God.

Fall River was built up by our ancestors, who are many. We can't forget the people, our brothers and sisters who were born and raised in Fall River that became famous. Chef Emeril Lagasse, Greg Gagne and Chris Herren to name a few; there are many more.

Fall River is home to many employers who offer long-term employment, advancement opportunities and good pay. To name just a few, Amazon, Southcoast Health, Gold Medal Bakery, Vanson Leather and Blount Seafood. There are way too many to name them all.

Fall River has one of the cleanest, safest drinking water supplies in the entire United States of America. It is protected by miles of forests and monitored 24 hours a day.

Our city is the only municipality in the country with its city hall (Government Center) built over an interstate highway, I-195.

We all need to work together, to get along with our neighbors, strangers and of course anyone we come in contact with.

We need to stop throwing trash out of our car windows after leaving the drive-thru. Fall Fiver is a beautiful city created on a hill for us to build up and enjoy.

Just think if drivers used their directional signals. These are purposely part of a car for safety reasons, not a decoration. They are intended to allow drivers to know were you are going, also drivers coming from the opposite direction to know you are turning. This is how we can keep our city streets safe and and all our people safe as well.

How about red light signals and stop signs. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't see a driver run a red light or go through a stop sign.

If everyone obeyed the laws of the land, laws of the road, the laws we all learned in driving school, we as a community would all be safer.

So despite all the negative happenings in and around our great city, there are lots more good happenings here. Be Fall River proud.
