Some of the TN cricket players who took part in the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) has received WhatsApp messages from mysterious people. Since the messages came from specific phone numbers, the players have complained about it to the BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit.
BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit is currently investigating the matter. The incident is also being investigated from an angle that the message may have been sent to the players for gambling purposes.
"Some players have claimed that the WhatsApp message came from certain unidentified persons. The information given by the players is recorded," said Ajit Singh, head of the BCCI's Anti-Corruption Unit.
Ajit Singh added that the BCCI unit is trying to find out these mysterious people through tracking their phone numbers.
