Boy electrocuted in Chennai

CHENNAI: A 14-year-old boy was electrocuted at Mugalivakkam here on Sunday night when he came in contact with water in a pit in which live cables were lying.
The deceased has been identified as Deena, a Class IX student in a government school in MGR Nagar. He was the second son of Senthil, 40, Subasri Nagar in Mugalivakkam and Vanitha, 34. Their elder son, Senthil, is an autorickshaw driver.

The incident happened around 10pm when Deena took out his father's two-wheeler to fill fuel. As he stepped on the stagnant water by mistake, he suffered an electric shock and fell unconscious.
Neighbours alerted Tangedco officials, and power supply to the area was suspended. He was rushed to hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead.
