O Panneerselvam said here Monday that the AIADMK-led Tamil Nadu government will stick to the
two-language policy.
Quoting former chief minister J Jayalalithaa, Panneerselvam said two-language policy of former chief minister C N Annadurai was “our lifeline.”
“As our leader Amma declared in the assembly, we will adhere to the two-language policy, and Tamil Nadu will never backtrack,” he told reporters when asked about Union home minister Amit Shah’s push to make
Hindi the national language.
The deputy chief minister justified the proposed public examinations for classes V and VIII students stating that they would kindle children’s interest in learning.
Asked whether chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and he were at loggerheads, OPS said that they were on good terms. “You are trying to drive a wedge between us,” he said.
